In line with the government guidelines masks are no longer required in the church building. Chairs will remain set out in a relaxed style and can be moved to create more space.
If you would prefer to be more spaced out and away from the crowds the balcony area is reserved for you.
Of course please continue to wear a mask if you feel safer.
Please continue to remain at home if you feel unwell and also sensitive to others vulnerability at this time of transition .
Our services are roughly an hour and a half long. We have an half an hour to 40 minutes of worship and family time. The young people then go out to their children’s groups and there is a 20-25 minute sermon.
EBC is a reasonably old building, but we’ve tried to make it as accessible as possible. We have a wheelchair lift to help with access from the main worship space to our sports hall and other rooms. We have a hearing loop and large printed words for our times of worship. We also have baby changing, a disabled toilet and disabled car parking spaces. If you’d like any further information please don’t hesitate to get in contact with the church office.
We have a welcome team that will greet you at the doors as you enter the main foyer. From here we serve teas and coffees. You are welcome to take this with you into the main worship space where you can take any seat!
The short answer is no. Whilst we’d like you to feel comfortable, we also ask you to remember that EBC is a place of worship and a family church.
You’re welcome to take part as much or as little as you like. If you’re uncomfortable with standing and joining in the worship then please feel free to stay seated. If you’d rather not take part in communion – you’re not required to and we’d like you to feel at home.

After the service we ask parents to collect their children from their groups. We also invite you to join us for a tea or coffee in the foyer and stay for a chat. If you’d prefer to disappear as soon as the service finishes, you’re of course welcome to, but we’d like to get to know you.
