Partnering at EBC

You’re welcomed and encouraged to join in!

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ
(1 Corinthians 12:12)

We’re one body, made up of many different parts.

Each of us matters, each of us belongs, and none of us is unnecessary.

Together in Christ, we’re stronger, healthier, and more whole than we could ever be alone.

Think big and double it…

Falmouth & Penryn Foodbank

Our local Falmouth & Penryn Foodbank is a vital lifeline in our community, and that feels especially true at Christmas. For many families, the pressure isn’t just about putting food on the table, it’s the quiet worry of how to give their children, or even their parents, something to open on Christmas Day. Right now, there’s still time to buy gifts for all age groups, and those simple, thoughtful gifts can carry real dignity, relief, and hope into a home that’s feeling stretched thin.

As a church, we’re grateful to be part of this work. It is a real joy to be able to support them both financially and practically. Many from our church family already volunteer with the Foodbank, offering kindness, conversation, and a steady presence alongside the food parcels and presents. If you’ve ever wondered about getting involved, now’s a great time. Come and have a chat with the team. They’d love to share what they do and how you might be part of it too.

Sound & Light at EBC

We’re excited about the plans to install a new sound and lighting system (hopefully by the end of January ’26). Following the Partner Evening, the feedback was really encouraging. The audio speaker demo was impressive, and the media team’s presentation helped everyone see clearly how this investment will serve the life of the church, from gathered worship to events and wider community use. There was a strong sense of unity in the room, with a general consensus to move forward, and this was subsequently affirmed by the Trustees.

As a church family, we’ve been invited into the joy of giving towards this project. This isn’t just about equipment, it’s about creating a space where people can hear clearly, engage fully, and encounter God without unnecessary barriers. If you’d like to explore this further, including costs and timelines, please take a look at the attached document, which sets out the full details.

Alongside the vision, it’s helpful to be open about the cost. The total investment for the new sound and lighting system (including other vital peripheral upgrades) is around £50,000. What’s exciting is the opportunity to see our gifted seed funding go further, even to the point of doubling its impact. This isn’t a target that needs to be reached for the project to begin, but it does open up a bigger picture of what’s possible together.

If we were able to raise £25,000 towards this, it would mean future projects could benefit from the same kind of seed funding partnership, allowing us to achieve at least twice as much as the gifts already given. It’s an invitation, not a pressure, to be part of something that blesses the church not just now, but well into the future.
