What to expect

Emmanuel is a relaxed, friendly and open Church. There is no dress code; most people tend to fall within the smart to casual bracket, although we do have our fair share of more creatively dressed students!

Morning services

If you decide to come along to one of our Sunday morning services you will be greeted at the door by our stewards. If you are unfamiliar with a Church environment, please have a chat with one of the door stewards who can point you in the right direction and help you to feel comfortable.

Once the service begins it will usually involve some music and singing, with words displayed on a large screen. If you are visually impaired, please let one of the door stewards know so that they can provide you with large print words.

Our service will also involve times of prayer, a voluntary collection, readings from the Bible and a talk or sermon. At the end of the service there will be an opportunity to be prayed for by our Prayer Ministry Team if you feel it is right for you. Tea and coffee will also be served after the service.

Morning services typically last about 90 minutes.

Evening services

Our evening services are more varied, with different styles of worship and many regular ‘event’ type services. Please refer to the homepage to check out which type of service will be held this week.

Evening services typically last about 60 minutes.
